"To save our countryside we have to save our cities"

Harley Sherlock, Past President of CPRE London

So why is the 'Campaign to Protect Rural England' active in London? As in the rest of England, we fight for our countryside and open spaces, and campaign to make our capital city a better place to live for everyone. Our green open spaces are 'living lungs' and a vital part of London. Parks, gardens, allotments, nurseries, farms and playing fields are under threat. You cannot rely on the Mayor and your local council to protect our open spaces - even if they claim to do so. To keep and enhance our unique capital city as a decent place to live and work we need to make our voices heard.

We hope you will join us.
