London Friends of Green Spaces Network – Network Development Officer
CPRE London and the London Friends of Green Spaces Network (LFGN) are working together to grow and develop the network of park friends groups in London. We are seeking a Network Development Officer to support this work.
The Network Development Officer role
You will help to make contact with park friends groups, encourage groups to create a listing for the Big Green London Map as part of the GoParksLondon project (www.GoParks.London), promote sharing of ideas and good practice and help with occasional events.
- Remuneration and hours – The role is offered on a freelance basis 8 hours per week at £20 per hour (preferably worked over two or three days) initially for 6 months but with potential for extending for a further 18 months.
- Flexible working – We are open to requests for flexible working and will consider alternative patterns of work such as term-time only or hours worked over a number of days.
- Location – The role can be based either at CPRE London offices in Cowcross Street London EC1M 6EJ or as a freelancer in your own place of work.
- Management – Alice Roberts, Head of Green Space Campaigns at CPRE London will be managing this work.
Job Description
- Effectively manage LFGN input to the Big Green London Map in particular by making contact with friends groups and encouraging them to create listings for the map, to meet the target to establish 600 local friends group listings by June 2022
- Help to demonstrate the benefits to friends groups of creating listings for the map
- Help to support borough friends groups
- Help identify stories, ideas and case studies about or relating to park friends groups which maybe of interest to other groups
- Provide support at one or two annual network events
- Attend LFGN meetings which take place every 6 weeks at City Hall on Monday evenings 6-8pm
Person Specification
- Organised and proactive with excellent interpersonal skills
- An interest in / experience or knowledge of the work of park friends groups
- IT skills including using standard email accounts and Word. Experience of using Mailchimp would be desirable or a willingness to learn how to use it essential.
- Entitled to work in the UK
